Gallagher was born out of a love for dresses and the hope of a kinder garment industry.
Sarah Gallagher has always had a love for making things. She discovered her love for making clothes as a teenager and continued this passion for several years before pursuing a formal education in fashion design. After completing her degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Sarah has put her dreams into motion with just a few carefully designed pieces. With Gallagher, she hopes to help women celebrate their everyday lives and build a community of encouragement and kindness.
OUR VALUESI’ve always believed that the fashion industry was in need of redemption, but it wasn’t until 2015 that I began to realize how far it had fallen. After watching the documentary “True Cost,” I gained a better understanding of the horrific conditions endured by garment workers, many of whom are employed by some of the world’s most well-known brands. I was also shocked by the adverse effects the apparel industry has on the environment- second only to the oil industry. My desire is to contribute to a kinder future for fashion. With so much to redeem, Gallagher is committed to choosing the following:
Here at Gallagher, we value the process. Our made-to-order model allows us to oversee each step of the production process to ensure we are delivering the best product to you, without cutting corners or underestimating the value.
Promoting Selective Consumerism
The truth is, 90% of clothing is thrown away before the end of its useful life. We at Gallagher stand behind the notion that we all should own fewer, better things. We hope to create dresses that become treasures in your life.
Empowering Artisans and Women Everywhere
There are unseen talents in every corner of the world. We are committed to supporting these gifts by partnering with vendors in the U.S. and across the Atlantic who treat their employees well. Although women continue to be the backbone of the garment industry in labor and dollars, the unfortunate truth is that men are still running this industry. We’re proud to be a women owned and operated business and we hope to empower and employ like-minded females who are not willing to accept the status quo. Reach out to us if you are interested in joining our team or collaborating with us.
Reducing Textile Waste
We hope to significantly reduce textile waste by cutting dresses one at a time rather than carrying excess inventory.
While the pressure to slash prices in the apparel industry has never been higher, we know the true cost of fashion. We are committed to pricing our garments with sustainable materials and ethical production in mind.
Our collection includes only a handful of fabrics, all made from mostly natural fibers. Natural fabrics will continue to be at the forefront of our design process as we develop each new collection. For more information, check out our page on our fabrics!
